Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society to Break New Campaign Featuring Red Sox Player, Gabe Kapler and Patriots Player, Benjamin Watson Waltham, MA - October 12, 2006 - Manasian, Inc has developed an advertising campaign for the Center for the Study of Sport in Society at Northeastern University, scheduled to break in late October 2006. The integrated campaign features Gabe Kapler of the Boston Red Sox and Benjamin Watson from the Patriots and focuses on the Center's Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Program. The MVP program is a gender violence prevention and education program and is the first large scale attempt to enlist high school, collegiate and professional athletes in the effort to prevent all forms of men's violence against women. The campaign will consist of print advertising, posters, billboards and radio. "We were really lucky to have Gabe and Benjamin donate their time and effort. Gabe first participated in Sport in Society's MVP program through the Red Sox. Benjamin participated as part of an ongoing MVP program at the Patriots. When athletes take a stand on violence against women, other students and people listen. The focus of the campaign is to educate young men to the effect they have if they're willing to speak up and lead," states Jean Manasian, President of Manasian.
